Sonowatt Energies designs, installs, and maintains solar and battery systems for Bahamian businesses and homes. With our Solar Energy as a Service model, you can move to clean, reliable power without the upfront cost of owning the system.
Electricity in The Bahamas is expensive and unpredictable. Solar changes both of those things, but only when the system is designed for how your property actually uses power.
Our team brings engineering qualifications and field experience across on grid, off grid, and hybrid solar systems, including large scale project delivery.
We specify equipment from established manufacturers, including Huawei, rather than whatever is cheapest to land in Nassau this month.
Installations are carried out by our own crew and scheduled to cause minimal disruption to your household or your operations.
Maintenance, monitoring, and performance optimisation continue after handover so the system keeps meeting the numbers it was designed to hit.
From a single rooftop to a utility scale installation, every system starts with an assessment of your load and ends with equipment sized to match it.
Rooftop systems for Bahamian homes, sized around your household load and designed to survive the salt air and the storm season.

Explore storageAccess renewable energy with no upfront capital cost. Sonowatt owns and maintains the system, you pay a predictable monthly rate.
How SEaaS worksOngoing support that keeps systems operating efficiently and meeting their performance targets, whether we installed them or not.
About maintenanceExpert analysis and recommendations to optimise how your property uses energy and where renewable generation fits.
About consultingThis is the process Sonowatt follows on every project, whether it is a home in Nassau or a warehouse running three shifts.
We carry out a comprehensive energy assessment to understand how your property actually uses power and what you need the system to do.
We survey the roof or ground area, check structure and orientation, and confirm what can realistically be installed.
Our team develops a customised solar solution sized to your load, your space, and your priorities.
You receive a detailed proposal including the financial model and the service agreement. Nothing is hidden in the fine print.
Our crew installs the system with minimal disruption to your home or operations, then commissions and tests it.
We provide maintenance, monitoring, and performance optimisation so the system keeps meeting expectations.
Sonowatt Energies is committed to transforming the energy landscape in The Bahamas by providing innovative solar energy solutions, and to helping clients transition to clean energy while reducing both costs and environmental impact.
Generate your own power during the hours you use the most of it, and cut what you buy from the grid.
Paired with storage, your critical systems keep running when the grid does not.
A permanent, well documented energy system is an asset on the building, not a running cost.
Reduce dependence on imported fuel and the price volatility that comes with it.
Eliminate the fluctuations of traditional utility rates with a rate you can plan around.

Savings depend on how much electricity you use, when you use it, and how much usable roof or ground space you have. A commercial client running heavy daytime load usually sees the largest reduction, because solar output lines up with the hours the business is drawing the most power.
We do not quote a percentage before we look at your bills. The first step is an energy assessment where we review twelve months of usage and model what a system would offset on your specific property. That assessment is free.
A residential rooftop system is typically a matter of days on site once the design is approved and equipment is in hand. Commercial and industrial systems run longer and are scheduled in phases so your operations keep running.
The honest answer is that the site work is rarely the long part. Permitting, utility approval, and equipment shipping into The Bahamas usually set the timeline, and we give you a realistic schedule in your proposal rather than an optimistic one.
Panels alone lower your bill during daylight hours. They do not keep your lights on when the grid goes down, because a grid tied system without storage shuts off during an outage for the safety of line workers.
If your priority is bill reduction, panels may be enough. If you need your building to keep running through an outage, you need storage. We will tell you which one your situation actually calls for.
Only if it includes battery storage and is configured for backup. A properly designed solar plus storage system detects the outage, disconnects from the grid, and continues running the loads you nominated as critical.
During design we ask you to decide what has to stay powered. Refrigeration, servers, medical equipment, and security systems are common priorities. Sizing storage around those specific loads keeps the cost sensible.
On our subscription plan, equipment and workmanship carry a 25 year warranty, roof penetrations carry a 10 year warranty, and the system is monitored 24/7. Sonowatt replaces equipment for the life of the contract.
On a purchased system, workmanship and production carry a 10 year guarantee, roof penetrations carry a 10 year warranty, monitoring is included, and the equipment itself is covered under the manufacturers' warranties.
