Commercial and industrial solar

Turnkey solar for Bahamian businesses, from a single commercial building to a large scale installation. Designed around your operating hours and your load profile.

Commercial and Industrial

Energy is a controllable operating cost

For most Bahamian businesses, electricity is one of the largest line items that nobody has ever tried to renegotiate. It moves with fuel prices, it is billed after the fact, and it is treated as fixed.

It is not fixed. A commercial solar system generates during your peak operating hours, which is precisely when your demand and your cost are highest. That alignment is what makes commercial solar work.

The Business Case

Where the return comes from

Commercial solar returns are driven by four things. We model all four against your actual bills before we quote anything.

Peak Hour Generation

Solar output peaks during standard business hours, offsetting the power you would otherwise be buying at your highest demand.

Lower Operating Costs

A reduction in a recurring monthly cost compounds every year the system runs.

Rate Protection

Reduced exposure to utility rate movement and fuel surcharges over the life of the system.

Energy Independence

Paired with storage, less disruption when the grid goes down, and less reliance on generator fuel.

Who We Build For

Sectors we work with

Our primary focus is Commercial and Industrial clients through business to business partnerships, alongside traditional solar installations for large scale projects.

Warehousing and Logistics

Large roof areas, steady daytime load, and refrigeration or handling equipment that cannot afford downtime.

Hospitality and Resorts

High continuous demand, guest facing reliability requirements, and a genuine sustainability story to tell.

Manufacturing and Industrial

Heavy machine load concentrated in daylight hours, which is the strongest possible fit for solar generation.

Retail and Commercial Property

Multiple tenants, predictable operating hours, and a building asset worth improving.

Medical and Critical Facilities

Where an outage is not an inconvenience but a clinical risk, storage is the priority and solar funds it.

Utility Scale Projects

Large scale renewable projects contributing to the sustainable growth of the local economy.

Case Study

Solar plus storage at our own facility

Solar and battery storage system at the Sonowatt Energies warehouses in Nassau

Sonowatt Energies, Verizon Business Park

A solution installed at the Sonowatt Energies warehouses in Nassau, integrating photovoltaic generation with battery storage for commercial and industrial application. The project was delivered in partnership with Operadores Nacionales and is designed to maximise energy self consumption on site.

We built it on our own building first. If we are going to ask a client to put a system on their roof, we should be able to show them ours.

Two Ways to Buy

Own the system, or subscribe to the power

Not every business wants to put capital into a roof. Our Solar Energy as a Service model removes the upfront cost entirely.

Solar Energy as a Service

No upfront capital cost. Sonowatt owns, maintains, monitors, and replaces the equipment. You pay a predictable monthly rate and protect yourself against rising utility costs.

How SEaaS works

Purchase Outright

You own the system as a capital asset on the building, with a 10 year guarantee on workmanship and production, a 10 year warranty on roof penetrations, and manufacturers' warranties on equipment.
